Insatiable curiosity, a desire to make sense of the world around me and a love of words led me to journalism. Before I started freelancing, I worked as a reporter and editor at the statewide Des Moines Register, the Kansas City Star and several magazines. I’ve also taught journalism at Iowa State University as an adjunct professor. I have MA and BA degrees in journalism and mass communications.
